Wash and soak 100 gms Tuhar dal for 15 minutes and then give one whistle in the pressure cooker.
In another vessel, take 1 cup tamarind juice, 1 cup chopped vegetables, salt to taste and 5 tsp Chounk Sambhar Masala. Give this one boil and add the dal and give another boil.
In a pan add 1 tbsp oil, ½ tsp mustard seeds, 10 curry leaves, and 1 finely chopped onion. Sauté till the onions turn light pink, then add 2 finely ground tomatoes and 2 tbsp finely ground coconut. Sauté till the oil oozes out then add the mixture to the dal. Boil for 5-10 minutes.
Serves 2-3 people.
